Shiseido Aqualabel White AC Line

Hey there! Today I wanted to do a mini review of some of the skincare that I'm currently using~ I'll do a full skincare routine post later! As you may know, I'm completely obsessed with Shiseido skincare. Hehe. You should have seen me in Japan. Everywhere I went there was so much Shiseido I couldn't even help myself! I'm completely under their spell! So anywho~ I wanted to talk about Shiseido's Aqualabel brand White AC Emulsion and AC Lotion specifically (there's also some other acne treatment that I didn't purchase because my acne isn't that bad :p ). This line promises to be good for acne control (hence the AC) while also whitening up any acne scars that you may have.

Here are some photos that I just took~! Kekekeke~ Sorry for the terrible quality.... I only have my iphone camera right now... ><;;

Front:

Back:

Hehe! Jiyongie in the back! :DDDDD My one true bias~ Sorry I'm a little obsessed with him too. ><

 They originally come in boxes, but I threw those out because it was taking up too much room in my luggage and was going crazy throwing out stuff to keep within my weight limit. But yea. The packaging is made of a pretty teal colored plastic material (it says Polyethylene and Polyproplyene). The color really sold me on the product.

Now for the review part! I'll start with the White AC Lotion. I bought this for about 12-1300 Yen so about $15-16.50 USD for 200mL of product. Not bad for some Shiseido brand product. It was more expensive than the blue and red lines, so I bought this thinking that it'd be the best because I could barely read the Japanese. LOL. Good for me it turned out to be for acne and whitening. But that's not the point.... -___-;; I fail at reviews~ Gihee~

Claims of product:

  • Hyaluronic acid, winter begonia, lasting stable vitamin c derivative.
  • Collagen, vitamin B6, CE maturation-promoting ingredient, glycerol.
  • Pre-empt acne and fade acne marks with this basic skincare step.
  • Multiple whitening essences are introduced to the skin for deep moisturizing and whitening effects.
  • Skin is always dewy soft and sheer.

  •  I've been using this as a toner twice a day, after washing my face for about a month now. What I normally do is put about 4-5 drops onto a cotton pad and wipe my face with it. After using this toner, it does make your face feeling squeaky clean, which I like, but it doesn't absorb instantly, which I don't like. I believe that the Hyaluronic acid in the product is what helps achieve this feeling. The slight acidity of the product helps to exfoliate the skin, leaving it softer while helping to alleviate some of the acne scarring. It seems to be pretty gentle on your skin as well, but I don't have sensitive skin so I can only say so much about that. It really reminds me of the Clinque 3Step toner that I was using in Singapore, except that this smells a TON better, and it's less harsh (pretty gentle if I do say so myself). I mean, the Clinque one smelled terrible! This one is more of an old lady smell... but it doesn't really linger so it's not a breaking point for me. I really like this product. It does seem to help moisturize my skin, and I have noticed a very, very slight lightening of some of my sun spots, but I don't really know how much it has been helping to clear up my acne. Amazing too since I've only been using it for a month!

    Next up is the White Emulsion. This was may 1460 Yen I believe? I find that the lotions were usally a little more expensive than the toners. This would be about $18-19 USD for 130 mL of product. Emulsions mean that this is composed of two main elements: oil and water, so should have a lighter texture than some other lotions. I found that it does indeed have more of a watery texture than most lotions that I have used, which is nice. Here's a swatch:

    See how runny it is? For application. I shake the bottle first to make sure everything is mixed up nice (this is not really necessary but I'm OCD like that c: ). Then, I pour some on the back of my hand. Dab some on the outer areas of my face. Pick up the rest with my fingers, rub it between my two index fingers to warm up. Then spread it around my face, making sure to pat in the excess product. Afterwards, I'll just press my hands against my face for a few seconds in various spots to allow the heat from my hands to further facilitate the product from absorbing.

    Claims of product:

  • Hyaluronic acid, winter begonia, lasting stable vitamin c derivative.
  • Collagen, vitamin B6, CE maturation-promoting ingredient, glycerol.
  • Deeply hydrating formula that strengthens skin’s natural shield and optimally conditions acne skin.
  • Metabolism is promoted.
  • Pigmentation and visible pores are significantly improved.

  • This product, I don't actually like as much as the toner. While it does leave the face feeling moisturized, it leaves a slightly sticky residue on my face that I don't really like. Make sure to only use a little bit! Only about 2-3 drops. A little goes a long way. The more you use, the more sticky your face will be. Spreading thinner layers will help the product absorb. BUT. It will always leave that sticky residue, I found, which really puts me off this product. It will absorb completely into your skin in about 5-10 minutes though, but for that long you're stuck with your face feeling kinda heavy. I also found that it doesn't really help that much with my pore size as well. My visible pores still suck. Especially on my nose. So I can't back up these claims. Overall. This product didn't really do it for me. :(

    Conclusion:
    Overall, I'd give the line a 3/5. I'd give the toner a 4/5 and the emulsion a 3/5. The toner works really well and leaves my skin feeling really clean. The emulsion is not bad as well, it does moisturize the skin, but it leaves a sticky residue on the skin that takes more than a few minutes to absorb into the skin. I have noticed a little whitening of some of my sun spots, but not too much of my acne scars tbh. It is pretty good for a drugstore skincare, though. Definitely better than the American drugstore skincare things imo. Because it is so difficult to your hands on though, I had to knock a few points on the overall score of these products. For the price (about $30 for us USA folks), I personally would think twice before re-purchasing this unless I was in Japan. ;D I think I would probably buy the toner again over the Clinque one, but I think I like the Clinque 3Step moisturizer better. But that's a different story~

    You can find this product in Japanese drugs stores in Japan (hehe~), Amazon, Ebay, or Yesstyle. I actually think it was cheaper on Yesstyle so be sure to check there first for international purchasing.

    I hope you found this helpful! Sheepy out~ <3

    S e o u l Part 1

    OK! So I'm finally going to try to recap what happened for you guys and for my memories~ Such a good idea to do this like a little over a month later.... -____- Also, in order to not make this post too long I'll break it up into Days 1-2 and Days 3-5. c:

    We left Singapore on April 29th I remember. It was the day after my last final so I didn't have much time to pack. Especially because we left right after lunch to the airport on the 29th.

    We arrived in Korea on the 30th. The flight was kinda terrible. It gets really cold up there in the sky and it was overnight too so even colder T____T. Whatever, it was cheap and that's all I cared about. Must save monies yo! ;D Well we arrived Incheon International Airport at around 6AM and we were dead tired. We had to walk about 10 minutes to reach the main terminal and get our luggage. After exiting the luggage area, we had to take an airport shuttle bus to our hotel because apparently we didn't have airport transfer... even though the freaking website says that it does! LOOK!
    SEE! A big check mark next to airport transfer!! IT LIED! :x But we were too nice to correct them... pooooooo, I'm too nice.... T___T So anywho, we paid about 14000 won to get to the Holiday Inn Seoul Seongbuk. (Yup! We staying at the Holiday Inn~ It was about $50 SGD a night for 3 people in a double room.) The bus ride was fine, the seats were like mini couches and could go all the way back, so we had a nice nap. It  ended up dropping us off by it right across the street from the Holiday Inn. All in all, it took us about 2 hours to reach our hotel, but that's reasonable since downtown Seoul is kinda far away from the airport. Once inside the hotel, though, we had to wait another hour before we could check in because we arrived there really early, like 8AM, and check-in is around 12PM. Luckily, after they saw us crashing... hard.... on their couches, they upgraded us to a business class room (we were originally standard!) and let us check in at around 9AM. The only downside was that we had a male in our room so we were kinda counting on getting 2 single beds... but whatever... ><;; He slept on the couch. ;)The hotel kinda does its ups and downs though, it's a little far away from a the train station. We had to take a bus (about 1 won, 7211 or 1233) to go to the Gireum bus station and then take the Seoul mrt to go anywhere we want in Seoul. Unfortunately, my friend told me that the taxis in Seoul are pretty cheap so we could have taken that too... but we didn't know... :( The ups are that there are some nice cafes/ stores around the hotel (although we didn't explore it too much) and that there is a shuttle service to DongDaemun and Myuengdong provided by the hotel for free. Also, the rooms and service were really nice~ ;) The soaps there sucked though! Smelled too much like soap for men. -_-

    Day 1 (May 30): HongDae
     We slept in till 3pm, and then headed off to HongDae to get our hair did (which you can read about in a previous post) After getting our hair did, we went to get some late night dinner at Mr. Pizza~! OMG. We just had to get some 2PM Pizza! We ended up getting the Nickhun one! Hehe! It was pretty good! The toppings are pretty different from the American ones if you ask me.

     After that we took back some left overs (which they wrapped oh so nicely!) and did a little shopping in the HongDae area! I said it before and I'll say it again. This place is really nice! c: It's filled with so many small, boutique-y shops! We went bow crazy and bought like 5 hair bows each. LOL. They're SO cheap in Korea! We also ended up buying matching T-shirts because it was buy one get one or something. I'll show it later in a haul. Mine was a lovely peachy color and hers was a true blue color! So cute! Some pictures of HongDae:

    After that we just went back to the hotel to pick up our friend and crash for the night. The next day would be big shopping day! We went to MYEONGDONG! OMG that place is AMAZING!

    Day 2 (May 2): MyeongDong
    We woke up earlish to get some major shopping done in MyeongDong by taking the hotel shuttle! It was bunches of fun! This place is every Asian girl's dreams! Every cosmetic brand had like 5 locations (Etude, Face Shop, Skinfood, Aritaum, etc) and there were malls, cafes, street vendors, and more clothing shops! AMAZING! I bought SO MUCH skincare!! I seriously went crazy! The best part was that most store people knew more than 1 language (like Chinese, Japanese, some English) so it was easier to communicate with them.

    Anyways! First, we grabbed some lunch at the Lilac cafe! It was a cute place and the food wasn't that bad. They were terrible with English though so it was kinda bad, though, but whatever. Good food. We had a Chicken stuffed bread thing (SO GOOD!) and a fresh Turkey sandwich that we shared between the 3 of us.

    So after the snacking... all hell broke loose. Kakakakaka. We took all the pictures with the celebrity cardboard cutouts (here are only a couple :p)

     We ate all the street foods (ok, only some of it, but whatever. Must not get fat. Hehe. We also dropped by Red Mango and got some Green Tea dessert. I don't remember what it was called, but boy was it good! <3

    Hehe. I wonder what they would say if they knew I was posting them online! Take that! >:D

     I got lost in the make-up and skincare~! But you'll find out about that later! The only clothing item that I bought here was a rabbit hoodie... kekekeke~ so Fobby but whatever! ;D

    After MyeongDong we went to DongDaemun for dinner! We found a small soup/ BBQ place nearby the exit and ate there. Anna and I had soup while V2 had some Bibimbap.We also had some more street food but I look bad in those pictures~ :p

    After dinner, we set off to try to find the Namdaemun night market.... but kinda failed.... T_____T I don't wanna talk about it, but SOMEONE (not naming names, but she was being a little bit of a bossy bitch that night) kept saying that I was wrong that it wasn't open that night and that we should just leave because she was tired! WELL. I was NOT wrong. I looked it up! It should be open on Tuesday! We just went out the wrong exit (we had no idea where to go because our group leader V2 fails :x) and were just a little lost! But I REALLY wanted to go! It's supposed to have some of the best street food! OMG. I was SO MAD! But whatever. I get over it. -_____- hmph. We ended up going to the market nearby and just buying some late night snacks from there. SO MAD. OMG. But this is vacation, and you can't let these little things get you down. c:

    Japanese Girl OOTD

    Okay. So I didn't really wear this today... but I like this outfit so much I thought I'd upload this~! ALSO. Don't wanna study.... hehehehehheheh ><;; This outfit is a Japanese girl inspired outfit and was worn whilst I was roaming around in Japan! :D I was so jelly of all those cute Japanese girls who always seem to have perfect hair.... so I tried to dress up like one too! Lol.... Massive fail though.... ><;;

    Here tit tis~ <3

    I'm styling this super cute dress that I found in a small store in Ueno. I don't remember the store name though. But it's in the area near the subway station. There is also supposed to be a really good second hand store nearby that my one friend visited before... but we couldn't find it again.... :'( The dress gives a super girly feel because of the floral print and light dim gray background. The hem is embellished with a lace, crochet detailing that is really in for this season. I personally have a weakness for lace as well~ ><

    I'm also wearing thigh-high socks for a 300 Yen store in Chiba. Sorry for my terrible memory, but it was on the second floor of a mall, near a university that my friend goes to. Knee high socks are REALLY popular in Japan apparently.... when I was in Tokyo... SO MANY people were wearing them! OMG. SO POPULAR! So I need them too... kakakaka must fit in~ <3 Also, I know you might say that they're not really thigh high... but they kept falling on me because I have kinda skinny legs... u jelly? ;)

    For my purse, this is a really vintage-y purse that I was really happy to find in a second hand store in Chiba. It's the same store that I bought the black belt at. I really wish I had more time to shop around there! It's SUCH a nice place, with a bunch of really good finds! This was actually the same price as the belt! SUCH A GREAT DEAL! I had to have it! <3333

    Not much arm candy. Just a hair tie with a bow on it and a watch. SADLY. The watch broke... :( I think it got caught one too many times when I was wheeling my luggage around in Tokyo. T_____T The worst part about it was that that watch was like the perfect size for my tiny wrists! It's SO hard to find good watches these days. :(

    Lol. Yea, I wore this on the day we went to Osaka. It was kinda chilly so I put on my gray and white cardi I had from America. It's from Macy's from a brand called Pink Rose. My taupe heels are from Famous Footwear by Hot Kiss. My glasses were bothering my bar so I pinned my hair up to the side. LOL. And viola~ My OOTD Japanese style! ;D Ps. No photoshop on anything~ you jelly of my legs? Puwahahahaha~ jk~ ;)

    Recap::
    Japanese Dress - Store in Ueno (1900 Yen)
    White Bag - Store in Chiba (300 Yen)
    Knee High socks - 300 Yen store in Chiba (300 Yen)
